Where is Antelope Canyon in Arizona?
Antelope Canyon is located on the Navajo Nation land just east of the small-town Page, Arizona. This remote area is part of the Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park and is close to the Arizona-Utah border.
Although Antelope Canyon is one large canyon system, it can be broken down into two distinct sections.
- Upper Antelope Canyon – known for the beautiful photographs, the area is mostly flat.
- Lower Antelope Canyon – mostly below ground level, there are staircases and narrow passages.

Where are Antelope Canyon Tours?
To visit Antelope Canyon, you must book a guided tour with a Navajo Nation Tour Guide. Advance reservations are highly recommended especially during the busy seasons. A permit fee is required, but it is included in your tour price. Companies want you to arrive early for your scheduled tour. They also recommend that you wear closed toe shoes and leave your backpacks, tripods and selfie sticks behind.
